Grundfos SQ Series 3" Deep Well Pump System

Grundfos SQ is designed for fast, easy installations.  All connections fit in most new and existing systems.  Additionally, SQ is small and light-weight, making it easy to manage even in difficult applications.

The beginning of the pump revolution starts today.
Grundfos has broken the mold to design a radically new submersible pump that will bring about a whole new era in pumping equipment. Grundfos is proud to introduce the new SQ Series of submersible pumps.

To select which pump is right for you first you need to determine how much water you need in Gallons Per Minute (GPM).

Here are some utility equivalents to help you get into the correct series of pump.

  • Average Shower: 3 GPM

  • Average 3/4" Garden Hose: 5 GPM

  • Average Sink: 1 GPM

  • Flushing the Toilet: 2 - 4 GPM

  • Sprinkler/Irrigation Systems: These systems vary greatly

  • Dish Washer: 2 - 3 GPM (While Rinsing)

  • Clothes Washer: 4 - 5 GPM (While Filling)

Grundfos SQ Series Submersible Pumps

Today's Pump SystemToday's Pump System
SQ pumps operate at a constant speed much like today’s conventional pumps. The difference between it and today’s pump is that you get all the added benefits of an electronically controlled permanent-magnet motor, which cannot be accomplished with a conventional induction motor. The SQ pumps are available for single-phase power and use a simple 2-wire design, making installation easy.
SQ  - Features
  • Rugged design
  • 1/3 - 1.5 Hp Integral motors
  • Excellent sand handling capability
  • High motor and pump efficiencies
  • Built in dry-run protection
  • Overload / locked rotor protection
  • Over voltage / under voltage protection
  • Over temperature protection
  • No control box required
  • Soft-start
  • Multiple frequency input (50 - 60 Hz)
  • Two voltage variants:
  • 1 x 100 - 115V
  • 1 x 200 - 230V
  • Pump and motor can be separated
  • High starting torque (even at low voltages)
  • Easy to install
  • Serviceable pump and motor

Reliable Check ValvesCheck Valve
Reliable built-in spring loaded check valves let you operate the pump in any position from vertical to horizontal.

Rugged DesignRugged
The SQ pump design uses "floating" impellers. Each impeller has its own tungsten carbide/ceramic bearing. This design and the high quality of materials make the pump very wear resistant, especially in sandy conditions.

Permanent-Magnet MotorMotor
The SQ motors are based on a permanent-magnet rotor which produces high efficiency output within a wide load range. The high and flat efficiency curve of the permanent-magnet motor allows us to cover a wide power range with the same motor, as compared to conventional AC motors. For SQ pumps, this means three motors to cover the horsepower range from 1/3 to 1.5 Hp.

Advanced ElectronicsElectronics
By combining advanced electronics, permanent-magnet motors, and Grundfos' own micro-frequency converter, we are now able to control and communicate with pumps in ways never before possible. A few of the features that come out of this combination are Constant Pressure Control, Soft-Start and integrated Dry-Run Protection.

NOTE: Sizing a well pump can be tricky.  If you are unsure of which pump is best for you, please contact Eric (304) 549-6214 for help to pick the best pump for your installation.

Neither Earth Movement nor Grundfos will accept the return of a used pump unless it is a warranty issue.  Misapplication or incorrect sizing of a pump is NOT considered a warranty issue.
